As a result of the nonexistent support from Trollix regarding XForum for
PostNuke and the fact that we are bugfixing the old XForum 1.81.1 we have
decided to open an english forum here at PostNuke.dk.
Please feel free to use all the "XForum UK" fora and let us help you with
your problems, issues and ideas and wishes for some future releases.
Trollix has been informed of the above and has given his consent.
At a later date we will be posting a roadmap for XForum "XForum 2.x for
PostNuke roadmap".

A very good Idea - I have been trying to register on Trollix at the time
when I had problems with Xforum - but found out it was impossible to
register and use their forum.
And my french language is not very good since it´s 6 years from now when I
was i France - maybe an advice to go there again some day.
At the moment I am installing a new postnuke 0.762 website on a webhotel
that was recommended to me from the famous Ellefarm (Ellegaard). I intend
to use the Xforum 1.82 which I have tested before.Recently I got this
error
"Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in
/mounted-storage/home30b/sub003/sc26698-XZEC/www/modules/XForum/header.php
on line 133"
By searching postnuke.dk I found out that it´s a standard problem with PHP5
- so now I moved to PHP4 and start again.

Do you have a PHP5 setup on any site where it would be possible to test the
PHP5 compatibility (I have a testversion ready)??

As for the reassign $this problem, surely there must be numerous threads
here and there about this problem - myself I cannot recall if it is an
unsolvable problem with existing non-php5-supporting code or if it is a
matter of changing a line or two -
Not being able to give any sensible answer at this time, let me instead say
that I am eager to follow further development discussions here in the new
English forum

If the reassign problem is in fact the only problem regarding PHP5
compatibility... well then I have solved it and just need some testing
environment
PS: it was only minor changes in 6 files

Sounds nice KimE - I´m planning to convert to PHP5 at the moment and then I
will give some feedback on the results later - I guess during a week.
I need a lot of luck and hope and strenght to make all those modules work
well - since I am running a forrest of large modules - I guess the Little
knows if Paged 1.001 is prepared to PHP5 ?

Well the simple changes was unfortunately NOT enough.
I have spent some days (a weekend) together with Rags as testperson solving
the major issues regarding XForum and PHP5.
The version is not accessable from downloads just yet but if You would like
to test for me I could send the test version to you?
To save yourself from problems... please do NOT install with PN.763!!!

Yes - nice if you would send it to my mail postmaster(a)dannyboyd.dk - but
I guess you konw that adress - I would like to see how it works and if
possible help solving some issues.
I have requested the transfer right now - so I will test tomorrow if
possible.

Don't forget... register_globals=ON and do not install with PN.763 (PN.762
is OK)

Now i´m ready to give my testresults.
emne=subject
System php 5.1.6 mysql 5 postnuke 0.762 - register globals on - converted
from php4 to PHP5
It looks quuite promissing at the moment I only found one specific error -
though I havent tried all settings but is what works.
new subject , edit , quote , www, find , - anmeld I don´t know where to see
the rapport?

I had a problem with insert a smilie - then the written text was deleted -
but now it´s ok.
So all theese important settings are ok , and At the moment I didn´t get
any errors in theose things I tested - I can change the sittings. So I dont
see any problems right now.
where do I seee the reports and where do I turn on HTML - ? there is a
setting for html for signature but I dont find the other setting in the
thread - or maybe something is missing?
You can try my new site - It´s a nonsupport forum where people can complain
about there computers - I think that kind is needed on the internet - *s
